Pentair Haffmans develops and manufactures Quality Control and Process Equipment to both recover and manage CO2 for the beverage industry. Mr. Ernest Haffmans founded the company in 1947 as an agent for the European brewing industry, focussing mainly on the supply of raw materials.
When in the early 1960's Ernest Haffmans decided to develop and assemble Quality Control Equipment, the famous CO2 Gehaltemeter was born. In the 1970's the activities were extended and Haffmans started to deliver CO2-Recovery technology.
In 1980 Bert Haffmans succeeded his father and the focus of the company shifted from trading into development, manufacturing and service, focusing on the areas of Quality Control Equipment, Units for Carbonation, Blending, De-aeration and CO2-Recovery.
In 1998 Norit 'leading in purification' became the 100 % shareholder of Haffmans BV and Menno M. Holterman became Managing Director. With customers in more than 150 countries, the Norit Group came to be a real multinational company with strong focus on innovation and customer satisfaction.
In 2007 was time to celebrate 60th birthday of Haffmans BV. As a theme of the celebration party, the famous "Oktoberfest" was chosen, the biggest beer festival in the world. The same year, Haffmans BV introducesm a new OGM on the world market.
In 2008 Haffmans BV appointed Olaf Müller as Managing Director. Olaf Müller succeeds Menno M. Holterman, who was appointed as Chief Growth Officer and member of the Executive Board of Directors Norit NV.

Recently, Pentair, Inc. acquired Clean Process Technologies (CPT), a division of privately held Norit Holding B.V. As of May 12, 2011, the companies under CPT – Filtrix, Haffmans, Nijhuis, Norit Components & Services, Norit Process Technology, Südmo, and X-Flow – are part of Pentair’s Filtration Solutions global business unit.
